Easter Egg Hunts for little eggsplorers in Dorset and Hampshire

Personalised Easter Egg hunt bags
With the Easter weekend almost upon us and our little peeps in mind, we’ve pulled together an egg-cellent (sorry had to get at least one egg pun in here!) shortlist of our favourite Easter egg hunts in the local area. All selected based on past experience and previous highlights amongst our friends and family.

Hinton Ampner Easter Egg Hunt

Hinton Ampner Giant Egg Hunt and…..free face painting!

25th-28th March:  Look for giant eggs hidden in the beautiful gardens of Hinton Ampner. Get the kids faces painted for free before heading out on the hunt. The huge topiary and wiggly windy paths make it a really fun and stunning place to explore.

Marwell Zoo Wild Egg Hunt
25th-28th March:  Ok it might be a bit pricier than others closer to home but if you’re going to splash out and make a day of it then this wins it for us. Not only do the kiddiwinks get an egg hunt they also get to talk to the bird team to find out more about birds (…they don’t lay chocolate eggs for example!).  There’s a competition too – take photos of the birds for their Big Bird competition …and there’s face painting.. could Easter be more fun?!

New Forest Canoeing Easter Egg Hunt

27th and 28th March 1pm-3pm:  A great one for getting active with older children, provided the weather is nice (fingers crossed and might as well cross the toes too). You can always pop into the cosy Montagu Arms to warm up afterwards.

Highcliffe Castle Easter Egg Hunt

28th to 31st March:  Love this Easter Egg hunt for toddlers. Set against a lovely backdrop it’s a small but perfectly formed trail for little legs and there’s no entry fee either so a cheep…and very cheerful option.

Longdown Farm Easter Egg Hunt

25th to 28th March:  There is a trail for the little ones and then an additional one to keep older children (adults included) happy. Pack a picnic to refuel before heading round the farm to play in the hay barns and meet lots of utterly adorable farm animals in spring.

Studland Beach Easter Egg Hunt

25th March to 10th April:  For a proper blast of fresh air head to Studland Bay for their Easter egg hunt. It only costs £2.50 per person for the trail and is on for over 2 weeks so definitely one to head to as soon as there is a glimmer of sunshine.

Whichever trail you choose, don’t forget your personalised Easter Egg hunt bag – if, like my sister, you are a chocolate hoarder you definitely don’t want to be getting your egg haul confused with someone who isn’t!
